Randy Naylor - General Secretary PDF Print

RandyMedia headlines make it painfully clear that war and violence are a common element in the lives of millions of people throughout the world.  "Peace" is not part of those headlines.  That WACC should chose to focus on peace at Congress 2008 is both a counter-headline and counter-cultural decision.  At the same time WACC asserts that "peace" is about much more than just the absence of "war".  We hold that communication and peace are part and parcel of the same faith-based conviction that people are meant to enjoy life - life in all its fullness.

Communication is Peace, Building Sustainable Communities is not only the theme for Congress 2008, it is a statement of faith and conviction. The world was created to be enjoyed by all of creation, and that can only be achieved when communication is achieved effectively between people, around the world, across cultures, with respect for all creation, and in the very communities we inhabit every day.

This website officially launches our journey toward such a commitment.  The site will give a lot of information about the Congress meeting itself.  At the same time the site is intended to be an online, dynamic, engaging and engaged virtual environment where much can be done before, during, and after Congress 2008 to build the kind of sustainable communities that give witness to our claim that Communication is Peace. On this site you will find ideas that inspire, challenge, and maybe even nudge our global community to make a difference, to live as if communication is, in fact, peace. There will be opportunities for dialogue, reflection, growth and change.  My great hope is that you will find the wisdom of the ages and the insights of the moment combined as a resource to support you in your life, work and commitment to building that sustainable community that you call home.

Welcome.  Please join us on this journey.  Communication is Peace.
