Are subsidies still available?
No. The subsidy application deadline was March 31st and all funds available for subsidies have now been allocated. Those who have been awarded subsidies have been contacted.

Can you reconsider your decision to subsidize my participation at Congress?
We cannot reconsider our decision as all available funds have now been allocated.

Payment options are either too expensive or are not available from my country. May I pay my fees once I am in Cape Town?
No. Payment must be received in full before a registration is considered complete. We are unable to make financial commitments to the hotel until we have received a participants payment. Therefore, we cannot guarantee participation to anyone who has not paid.

Can I make special arrangements such as arriving early or staying after Congress?
Non-subsidised participants can stay at the hotel at their own expense before or after Congress, but they must make their own arrangements with the hotel. If a participant chooses not to use the hotel room alloted, they will not receive a discount.

As a subsidised participant, may I choose my own travel schedule?
We regret that we are unable to facilitate special travel arrangements for subsidised participants.

What are the Entry/Exit requirements for South Africa?

Can WACC provide letters of invitation for visa purposes and how quickly?
WACC will provide a letter of invitation automatically to all participants. If your registration is confirmed and you require a invitation before one is sent, please contact congress@waccglobal.org.

Does WACC provide any support for health care expenses while in Cape Town or while traveling to or from Congress?
No. You are entirelyresponsible for your health care expenses. Please see the terms and conditionsfor further information.

What costs are participants responsibilities? Is their a per-diem for subsidised participants?
The registration cost pays for accommodations, meals, registration, the day trip and travel to and from the Cape Town airport. Please see the terms and conditionsfor further information. There are no per-diem allowances. In the case of subsidised participants, please consult the confirmation form.

Which Learning Streams have simultaneous interpretation?
The Communication Rightslearning stream is in English only, the Media and Gender Justicelearning stream is in English with French interpretation, the Peace Journalismlearning stream is in English only and the New Communication and Information Technologiesis in English with Spanish interpretation.

Will Explorations sessions have simultaneous interpretation? WACC cannot provide simultaneous interpretation for all workshops. At past Congresses some participants have been able to provide simultaneous interpretation for some workshops, but, this cannot be guaranteed.

Will the plenary sessions have simultaneous interpretations?
All plenary sessions will have simultaneous interpretations to support English, French and Spanish.

Can I choose my own room mate?
Yes, on the registration form you can fill in the name of someone with whom you would like to share a room. You may also email congress@waccglobal.orgto request a room mate. However, sharing will only be facilitated when both parties have requested the same arrangement.
