Information for Travel and Registration Subsidies PDF Print

Please note that the subsidy application deadline of March 31st has passed. We therefore can no longer accept applications. If you have any problems please contact congress@waccglobal.org

The World Association for Christian Communication (WACC) has a particular interest in ensuring the voices of people in traditionally marginalised groups are heard at Congress 2008.  Therefore, WACC will support the participation of youth, women, indigenous peoples, and people living with disabilties by offering modest financial support to cover part of their registration fee and/or part of their travel costs.

Please note: WACC regrets  that, due to financial constraints, only a very limited number of people will receive financial subsidies.

Eligibility

Subsidies are intended to encourage the participation of youth, women, indigenous peoples, and people who are HIV positive or living with disabilities. Only those who meet these criteria should apply for a subsidy.

Requests for financial assistance will be accepted only from:

  • Women working in communication.  Priority will be given to applicants from UN-designated "least-developed countries."  See http://www.un.org/special-rep/ohrlls/ldc/list.htm

  • Indigenous people who are working in communication, regardless of country of origin.
  • People living with disabilities or with HIV and AIDS who are working in communication, regardless of country of origin.

Selection criteria

The selection of participants to receive financial assistance will be based on:

  • Whether the applicant belongs to one of the groups or categories listed above
  • Demonstrated need for financial support
